World Migratory Bird Day

What can you discover in 15 minutes?

World Migratory Bird Day is Oct. 10, and I’m challenging you to spend just 15 minutes outside paying attention to the birds around you. 🐦

You don’t have to be a bird expert, you just need to open an app on your phone and observe.

🔎 SEE A BIRD YOU DON’T RECOGNIZE?

Use the Merlin Bird ID app to help identify it.

👂 HEAR A BIRD BUT CAN’T SEE IT?

Merlin can help identify birds by their songs and calls, too.

📱 NOW, HELP TAKE IT ONE STEP FURTHER

Record what you find in eBird. Your observations can become part of a much larger picture that researchers use to study bird populations, migration, habitats and changes in our environment.

Something as simple as sitting in your backyard and paying attention can contribute to science and conservation for millions of birds.

Will you accept the challenge? Every Bird Counts, Your Observations Matter. 🌎🐦
