Bird eggs come in so many different shapes, sizes, colors and patterns, and they can be a fun way to introduce kids to the birds living all around us.

For Egg Day, I created a FREE “What Will Hatch?” printable to go alongside the Powerful Parables series to help kids explore different bird eggs, learn what birds they belong to, color along the way and solve a fun educational riddle.

It’s a simple activity, but it can open the door to bigger questions:

What bird laid this egg? Where does that bird live? What does it eat? Can we find one outside?
